The strongest trends are those that arose not suddenly, on the hype, but those that have been quietly and methodically developed, tested with hypotheses and MVP, and only then gained momentum and scale.
Most technological trends are significantly influenced by the development of basic sciences and areas (from nanotechnology to robotics and the development of a new generation of artificial intelligence), but there are also digital trends that can affect the world (Web3 and network infrastructure and security).
However, in the field of high technology, clear trends are emerging, that will significantly change the world. These trends are here to stay and are just around the corner. Our technology sector will have a good chance to lead at least some of these trends.
We have compiled a list of technological development to watch out for in the next 3 years.
1. Accelerated Development of Nanotechnology
Let's start with a global such as nanotechnology. Many of the industries are using it, from healthcare and 3D printing to the production of computers and robotics. This field needs significant funding, so it can only develop in key research centers - the United States, Britain, Germany, Australia, Canada. The technology involves experiments with ultra-small particles (1-100 nanometers), which can show useful properties. One of the main areas of research and development for the coming years is nanomaterials: 2D fabrics, synthetic surfaces, and coatings with unique properties, ultra-thin fibers, microscopic parts, carbon tubes, graphene, and more.

2. The Internet of Things in Every Home
Now even kettles and microwave ovens have a small control module and internet connection. By 2030, people are expected to have about 50 billion IoT-enabled devices at home and in their offices.
Therefore, the market now highly values the understanding of both embedded development and AI / ML systems (and even the combination of this with automatic payment systems, which has even received the term Robonomics). Demand for this technology will grow and the demand for specialists will be high (because there are really few of them).
3. Big Bang of AI and Machine Learning Technologies
According to an expert study the market for artificial intelligence will grow 10 times by 2028 from almost $ 36 billion in 2020 to an estimated $ 360.3 billion in 2028.
In 2020-2021, generative competitive neural networks (GANs) and natural language processing models became increasingly popular in the field of artificial intelligence and machine learning.
The most striking example is "text intelligence" in the form of GPT3 from the OpenAI project, backed by Elon Musk. With each new generation and the increasing complexity of the models, they are getting closer to what is expected of them:
- creation and automatic processing of content (from pictures and videos to articles and program code)
- recognition, analytics, and fairly accurate forecasting of results.
In general, it is felt that the "glass ceiling" that limits the capabilities of the current generation of artificial intelligence will soon be broken. This will lead to a cascade of quite powerful breakthroughs in various fields: from medicine and genetics (decoding the genetic code through multilayer mathematical models) to automatic programming systems.
Auto-generation of JavaScript codes in FrontEnd is already starting to show good results.
In particular, this development of AI will accelerate the introduction of hyperautomation.
4. Modular applications and services
Developers of large projects create large "combines", management systems, CRM, most of the functions of which are not needed by all customers at once. Therefore, few people want to overpay for features that are not needed. In addition, complex software packages are very difficult to master, not to mention the load on computing resources.
Therefore, in the coming years, the creation of services or apps will most likely take place on the principle of modularity or design (such as LEGO or, if you want, a shelf with IKEA). And this will become the standard. Each user will take only those modules that will be needed.
The sub-trend of this trend would be Low-Code and No-Code programs and services.
Its popularity began to grow a few years ago and is likely to remain at a fairly high level. After all, this area provides simple solutions where the user can understand and with the help of minimal knowledge of the logic of building projects create their own powerful product. This is usually a graphically oriented designed product. It may be a prototype MVP (Minimal Viable Product) for testing hypotheses. And for small businesses, it can even be a full-fledged website, online store, mobile application, and more.
5. Native cloud platforms
The flow of information is growing exponentially, so it is becoming increasingly difficult to process it "on the ground" with conventional computers. The trend of cloud computing and the use of cloud storage has been formed for a relatively long time. But recently we have started talking about the Cloud-Native approach to creating technologies, architectures and implementing programs and services based on them.
With this approach, the existing program is not adapted to work in the cloud, but from the beginning is designed so that information flows and loads use the potential of clouds by100%.
If in 2021 only 40% of all new digital developments worked with the Cloud-Native concept, by 2025 each new project is expected to be Cloud-Native.
At the same time, according to current research, today 94% of companies already use cloud services. And by 2023, the cloud solutions market in the United States alone could reach $ 623.3 billion. By 2025, the amount of data stored in cloud centers will reach incredible numbers - 100 zettabytes.
